- Business Data: Business name, registration details, and bank/payment details.
B. Data for Verification (KYB)
To verify your business and comply with regulatory requirements, we collect:
- Business Registration Documents
- KRA Certificate / PIN
- National ID (Representative/Director)
C. Data We Collect Automatically
- Transaction Data: Details about payments processed through Budj (amounts, time, and date).
- Usage Data: How you interact with the Merchant Dashboard, including buttons clicked and features used.
- Device Data: We collect specific details about the device you use to access the Services, including IP address, user agent, country, city, device name, platform (Web/Mobile), and push notification tokens (FCM Token).
D. Data from Third Parties
- Payment Providers: We receive transaction confirmation details from Safaricom (M-Pesa) to verify payments.
4. How We Use Your Data
We only use your data when the law allows us to. Specifically, we use it for:
- Service Delivery: To manage your merchant account, process transactions, and provide performance reporting.
- Communication: To send you transactional messages, dashbord updates, and alerts via push notifications (using FCM tokens).
- Security & Fraud Prevention: To detect and prevent fraudulent activities and unauthorized access using device and IP data.
- Platform Improvement: Analyzing usage trends and crash reports to improve the Merchant Dashboard and platform performance.
5. Sharing Your Data
Budj shares certain data to enable transactions and platform operations.
A. Transaction Data
When a user completes a transaction with you through Budj, we share relevant transaction details to facilitate reporting and cashback calculation.
B. Analytics & Performance Insights
We provide you with aggregated and analytical insights about your customers and transactions.
6. Other Data Disclosures
We share your data with the following third-party service providers to help us run the platform:
- Cloud Hosting, Storage & Automated Verification: Amazon Web Services (AWS) is used for secure cloud hosting (SES for emails, S3 for storage), automated document analysis (Textract), and secure encryption of payment credentials (KMS).
- Push Notifications: Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) is used to deliver real-time notifications to the Merchant Dashboard.
- Error & Performance Monitoring: Sentry is used for real-time crash reporting and error tracking.
- SMS & Transactional Alerts: Africa's Talking is used for real-time SMS delivery and merchant alerts.
- Payment Processors: Safaricom (M-Pesa) and banking partners to facilitate transactions.
- Legal Authorities: If required by law, a court order, or to protect the rights and safety of Fusion Labs Limited or the public.

We have implemented appropriate security measures to prevent your personal data from being accidentally lost, used, or accessed in an unauthorized way.
